Stiltskin Aquila Under-Eye Cream

Whatever you are using on your face is probably wrong for under your eyes. Not because it is a bad product. Because it is a different tissue.

The skin under your eye is among the thinnest on the body. In places it is under half a millimetre, roughly a tenth the thickness of your cheek. It carries far fewer oil glands, so it produces almost none of the lipid film that keeps the rest of your face resilient. Its collagen and elastin scaffold is sparse. And it sits directly over a dense bed of blood vessels with very little in between.

Almost every under-eye complaint falls out of one of those four facts.

Dark circles are usually vascular, not pigmentary. Blood pools in the capillary bed and shows through skin too thin to hide it. That is why the shade often reads blue or purple rather than brown, and why it worsens with bad sleep, dehydration and allergies. A brightening agent aimed at melanin will do nothing for it. What helps is vasoconstriction and better microcirculation, which is the job caffeine is doing in a well-built eye product.

Puffiness is fluid. Lymphatic drainage slows overnight and this loose tissue holds whatever collects. It responds to cooling, to gentle drainage, and again to caffeine.

Fine lines show up early here because thin skin on a light collagen scaffold, folded tens of thousands of times a day by blinking, simply fatigues sooner. This is the part peptides address, and it is slow. Think months, not weeks. Anyone promising faster is selling you hydration and calling it structure.

Two warnings. Rich occlusive face creams are often too heavy for this area and can leave it looking puffier than when you started. And this skin is easy to overwork. It does not want aggressive actives, vigorous rubbing, or a long routine. Right ingredients, ring finger, gently, consistently.

We formulated the Aquila Under-Eye Cream for this tissue rather than scaling down a face product: caffeine for the vascular and fluid problems, peptides for the structural one, and hydration at a weight the area can actually carry.

Treat the under-eye as its own problem. It behaves like one.
